Do the sponge tip applicators of OLD-stock lip glosses turn yellow/pink/reddish due to old age?

I went to a discount store the other day and bought a whole HOARD of Lip Smackers lip glosses. I just opened them up and noticed that the tips of the SPONGE ON APPLICATORS were discolored.. a hint of yellow, and the COLORED glosses had applicator tips that were a bright messy shade of pink, pale pink, or something of that sort of shade..


I was wondering if MAYBE these glosses had been tampered with or something, though I'm not too sure about the packaging..

no,the sponge tips turn the color it does from the color of the lip gloss and being in the lip gloss os long,it absorbs the color. all lip gloss applicators do that. my lip glosss things do that,and the brand isn't lip smackers, so don't panic about if it was tampered with or not. its just the color of the lip gloss around the applicator has soaked into the applicator.Do the sponge tip applicators of OLD-stock lip glosses turn yellow/pink/reddish due to old age?

they yellow just like the elastic in bras will sometimes yellow with age- it wont loose its effectiveness though
why did you waste your money on gross lipglosses? you could have just bought one nice..not old one.
They are probaly old but perfectly safe. My guess is that they have been sitting there for a few months or years, but as long as they were sealed you are fine...

Yes, the sponge tips do turn yellow with age, so I don't think they've been tampered with.

the glosses are old ..when you buy a t discount stores you have to be really care full because the stores buy discontinue and leftover items that the original manufacture didn;t want but want to gain some profit to be in the safe side next time when you purchase something buy one and tested if you are satisfied with the item buy more

Yuck - that sounds to icky! It's probably discolored due to age. I would bring them back to the store.
